I’VE MOVED!

Hi everyone! I’ve moved my blog over to a new host, so I won’t be using this one anymore 🙂

You can find me at:

http://coolgirlsreadtoo.com

Don’t worry- nothing has changed and everything has been transferred over, but it would probably be easier for me to keep in touch with you all over Bloglovin’ or RSS feeds. 🙂 The reason I moved was because Creative Whim offers a much more comprehensive book review format and is much more customisable. The commenting system there is still WordPress, and everything else is pretty much the same!

See you all there! 😀 ❤

After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.

Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another.

Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

I didn’t have a clue what I was getting myself into when I started reading Throne of Glass. I knew with all the raving reviews from different people that the book was going to be amazing, but I didn’t think I’d love it this much! And on that note, I’d like you to say hello to my FIRST EVER FIVE STAR RATING! 😮 What a beautifully narrated story, packed with most of my favourite things  – love triangles, fantasy, action, magic, romance and mystery!

I’ve been so busy over the last couple of weeks with uni that I haven’t had any time to write or respond to any comments! I’ve finally got a bit of free time to write something, get back to people and catch up on some reading, but not as much as I’d like to! 🙂

I’m *so* happy that I continued to read the Redemption series and I can’t wait for the fourth and final instalment to come out later this year! I also wrote a review for Book 1 in the series “Until Darkness Comes” a few weeks ago that you can check out. In the second and third books, the story flows way smoother and is generally is strung much better than the first book – such an improvement! This review contains spoilers…

The rules of engagement have changed and Liam, Olivia’s guardian angel, is forced to cross dimensional borders or risk losing the woman he’s sworn to protect. Suddenly, thrust into a world unlike anything he’s ever known, Liam isn’t prepared to come face to face with the young woman whose life he holds in his hands.

My Review

I decided that I wanted to read a book that hasn’t been read by so many people, and it was probably one of the bravest reading choices that I’ve made because, for the most part, I’ve read books which are known to be good or are written by famous authors.  I was so excited about starting this series because it’s New Adult, has angels, demons (fallen angels), and a love triangle. The perfect ingredients of sugar, spice, and everything nice…

After reading this book last summer, it sparked my newly found love of reading. I know you’re probably wondering why I only gave it 4.5 instead of 5, but I’ll get to that later. Let’s start with the good before the bad. Continue reading
